Nestled adjacent to the Limbough Canyon Trail Head in Pike National Forest this amazing project afforded a wonderful sloping site that gave way to spectacular northern views. The clients wanted a modern feel in a mountain setting that blended with the surrounding forest but did not feel contrived or forced. The result is this amazing home that captures the stunning views of the forest and mountians from both inside and outside of the house. Included in the programming and design was the desire to have a portion of the lower level dedicated to an Airbnb, better known as Mod Lodge Palmer Lake.

This cozy 1975 split level on a quiet cul-de-sac near the foothills of Morrison, CO just didnt have enough main floor living area for this family of 4. Tasked with adding square footage and a more open floor plan, this addition developed in to a stunning space that evokes a sence of openness and connection to the outdoors without being over bearing. The vaulted ceiling draws the eye up and towards the expansive set of windows which invite an abundance of natural light adding to the connection to the outdoors. This coupled with the large patio doors create a unique interconnection between the outdoor and indoor environment while tieing into the existing kitchen area as if the space was always there.

Creating this covered outdoor gathering space that features a fireplace, seating area, cooking and dining areas was a fantastic way to combine functionality and ambiance with amazing exterior views.
